• The Illinois legislature eliminated 10 of the 11 grounds for Divorce.  Now, the only legal ground for Divorce is Irreconcilable Differences.
• The Illinois legislature also eliminated the 2 year separation requirement.
• The concepts of "custodial parent," "non-custodial parent," and "visitation" have been done away with and replaced with "allocation of parenting time and responsibility."

In short, Divorce law in Illinois has been completely overhauled.
